Attended a presentation by Amber MacArthur this morning. Very knowledgable about Social Media. Few items to communicate. Best blogging software is still WordPress. If you are into Podcasting check out www.libsyn.com. If you are planning to start a “gated community like” social network look at www.ning.com.
If you have negative comments on your blog, don’t ignore them, comment back and be nice as they want to argue and bother you but if you are polite they will get frustrated and go away. Forums are still useful but they require a lot of management.
Company’s have to start somewhere with social media and a good place to start is Twitter, company social network on ning.com and of course start your own company blog. Develop a company strategy where each employee spends 30 minutes per day on social media and watch the results come in. Until next time, thanks for listening.
