Impressive office space

Lets face it when you are a start up its hard to spend all your start up cash on office space.  A lot of start ups do work out of less than professional office space and some do try to look more successful than they are and then build off this and grow their business.  I heard a comment last week that said they were not sure if they would deal with a supplier of theirs as they visited their office and it was less than impressive and they were concerned if the company was going to survive and be around in a few years.  When you are proud of your office space there are a few advantages:

  • Sales people are not scared when a prospect asks if they can do a site visit and come and see your office
  • Sales people can have more sales presentations at their office, where they can control the environment and pull in operations staff into the sales meeting if necessary
  • The right office space allows the right opportunity to show off your brand in a professional manner
  • Staff like to work in an environment that is professional and cool if that is your culture
  • Prospects are more likely to buy from you
  • Suppliers are going to take you seriously and possibly offer you better credit
  • HR department has an easier time attracting staff

So in conclusion, when you have respectable office space it makes growing your business much easier.  We have been around for 11 years now so we are certainly not at the start up stage, but if I was to do all over again, I would find a small respectable office space that looks professional and then grow from there.
