Every week has a total of 168 hours.  Have you ever analyzed what you spend your time doing for the hours in the week.  Here is a look

  • 40 = 8 hours of work per day
  • 56 = 8 hours of sleep each night (more than most people need)
  • 14 = 2 hours per day to eat
  • 14 = 2 hours per day to spend with your kids/friends/family
  • 21 = 3 hours of personal time to do whatever you want
  • 7 = 1 hour per day commuting (driving in your car etc)

I have been doing a fair bit of reading lately (actually listening to audio books) and one of the books I was listening to was asking the reader if you train to be great at what you do.  Most people would look at you strange if you mentioned that to them.  But if you think about it, whether you are a pro-athlete, a leading CEO, an artist or a scientist, if you are going to be truly great at your trade you have to train, you have to practice.
